About Me
Hi! My name is Mary.
I've created this blog to share my love of Tarot with the world. It's been a constant part of my life for almost 30 years now. I'm an intuitive reader and passionate deck collector. My collection is expansive and very eclectic. It includes the three classics Marseille, Rider-Waite and Thoth in various incarnations, from the vintage to the ultra-modern.
The Tarot is not just a divination and spell casting tool, it's above all a wonderful meditation and self-discovery instrument. I believe that is the reason for the enduring fascination it holds over so many people. The timeless symbology found in the images speaks a universal language that our subconscious innately understands.
I'm not a traditionally religious person. I've created my own brand of spirituality through an odd, but surprisingly effective mix of Zen, Wicca/Paganism, Humanism and Animism concepts. I believe there is a universal energy field which connects everything: the living, the inanimate and the spiritual. It runs throughout the physical and non-physical realms and links the two. It is this very energy that fuels my intuition when I read the cards.
As an agnostic/atheist, I don't worship any deities, but I do feel a strong kinship with the Ancient Egyptian God Thoth, God of knowledge, wisdom and philosophy and with his wife Ma'at, Goddess of truth and justice. Both are present in my favorite Tarot deck of all time, my first and lasting love, the Thoth Tarot by Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris.
I have this dream to one day open and curate an actual, brick and mortar Tarot museum somewhere. In the meantime, I continue my lifelong study of Tarot. Don't believe anyone who tells you that they've learned all there is to know about the cards. It's a continuous learning experience. It would take several lifetimes to absorb it all. This blog will serve as an account of my personal journey along The Fool's path.
